On 2 September 2014, the Seoul Economic Daily reported that Ons, a dye manufacturer based in Ansan, had developed a coating material for the plastic film substrate used in glasses-free 3D television, and that the work had drawn interest from the industry. The article noted that the technology was refined through industry–academia collaboration with Dankook University.
